The Geneva-on-the-Lake Police Department handles over 2000 calls for service annually with only four (4) full-time officers and multiple part-time/auxiliary officers.
Description
The Geneva-on-the-Lake Police Department was founded in 1927. We are a full-time police department, located in Ashtabula County, Ohio and we operate 24 hours a day/ 7 days per week. Our regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Officers needed outside of regular business hours when the police station is unattended should call dispatch.
General Information
The Geneva-on-the-Lake Police Department full-time staff consists of a chief, one sergeant, & three patrol officers. They are supported by approximately 18 part-time/auxiliary officers, many who donate their time with no compensation but are fully commissioned police officers. Some of these auxiliary officers are also part of our bicycle unit.
The police department serves the village base resident population of approximately 1,400 year-round residents. Summer tourism is known to increase the population by the thousands filling the 2.0 square miles of Geneva-on-the-Lake.
