Liquor Buyback- Ohio Liquor will allow a bar or restaurant to return unopened high proof liquor products purchased within the past 30 days as a way to provide economic assistance to bar and restaurant owners during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. SharedWork Ohio- It is a voluntary layoff aversion program. It allows workers to remain employed and employers to retain trained staff during times of reduced business activity. More information can be found at https://jfs.ohio.gov/ouc/sharedworkohio or by calling 866-733-0025, Option 3.

To apply for a SharedWork Ohio plan:  

  • Go to www.unemployment.ohio.gov  
  • Log in to your OJI Employer benefits account
  • From the Main Menu, under SharedWork Ohio (SWO), select View/Manage SWO Plans

Faster Unemployment Processing-
If your business has to shut down or lay people off due to COVID-19, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) has provided a mass lay-off code to provide to your employees to speed the processing of their unemployment benefits: 2000180.                                                                                                                          Ohioans can apply for unemployment at www.unemployment.ohio.gov 24/7. Applications can also be made by phone at 877-OHIO-JOB (877-644-6562) on Monday – Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Wait times may be affected as there has been a high volume of traffic to the site and their system has been overwhelmed.

SBA Small Business Loans – Disaster Recovery Loans

The State of Ohio has been declared a disaster state. As a result, businesses and non-profits can apply for SBA Disaster Recovery loans. These loans must be repaid, however they can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid due to the impact of the disaster.
