Welcome to the Village of Geneva-on-the-Lake

Geneva-on-the-Lake developed as a resort community over 130 years ago thereby gaining status as Ohio’s First Summer Resort. While the character and persona of the Village has changed over the decades, from a basic summer camp after the Civil War to a full-service resort community of the present, many of the iconic businesses and features remain intact.  The mile-long “Strip” retains its retro feel, perfect for any length visit. There is something for everyone at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Visitors can choose their own lake adventure from local shops, restaurants, wineries, amusement rides, a public 18-hole Golf Course, hiking and biking trails along the lake, charter fishing, or public boat ramps at the marina. The Village of Geneva-on-the-Lake, its residents, and business owners have focused on providing a fun, safe, family-oriented environment that offers a diversity of activities. Geneva-on-the-Lake has something to suit everyone from the outdoor enthusiast to the wine aficionado.
